The latest figure compared with the value when the new government took office – and, for comparison, how the indicator moved over the same length of time before the change. This is a short period: the indicators are also strongly driven by the world economy, earlier decisions and seasonal effects, so changes cannot be attributed to the new government alone.

About this indicator

In the 2000s hundreds of thousands of Hungarian households took out loans in Swiss francs. After the 2008 crisis the franc soared, pushing up repayments and triggering the FX-mortgage crisis. The loans were converted to forints in 2014–2015.

The latest figure (27 Oct 2026) is 397.67 HUF, under the Magyar Péter government. The series goes back to 1990; the highest value was 446.31 HUF (13 Oct 2022) and the lowest 39.97 HUF (4 Jan 1990).
