What has changed since the change of government?

Monthly balance (this year)✓ improved
−501−15 bn HUF
April 2026 → September 2026
+486 bn HUFsince the change of government

The latest figure compared with the value when the new government took office – and, for comparison, how the indicator moved over the same length of time before the change. This is a short period: the indicators are also strongly driven by the world economy, earlier decisions and seasonal effects, so changes cannot be attributed to the new government alone.

About this indicator

Monthly differences of the year-to-date balance published by ÁKK. The monthly balance is highly seasonal – February, for example, includes the 13th-month pension, and some months carry large interest payments – so months should not be compared mechanically. ÁKK publishes month-by-month figures only for the current year.

The latest figure (September 2026) is −15 bn HUF, under the Magyar Péter government. The series goes back to 2026; the highest value was 497 bn HUF (July 2026) and the lowest −2,271 bn HUF (August 2026).
